I purchased this lighter as a gift to myself, I was upset to learn you have to purchase st dupont butane or either an after market sprout kit, so I had to wait for couple extra days to use the lighter. Unless you are well off it’s not an everyday lighter.

Pleasant little weight to hold in your palm, ST-Dupont, quite a name for a piece of art to pass on my next generation, now let’s review it.The “ping” sound, nope! this one is very dull and short, not resonant like others ST-Dupont don’t expect it “clinnnng”.The brand mark and s/n are hand stamped, characteristic always for a St-Dupont.Cigar lighter, nope, don’t expect to light a cigar with this lighter, it fact it will become a “fan shape flame” when set to full flame, and that is it, not a strong jet light. The flint compartment is very tight to close with finger, follow up the manual to close it with a slider (not included), the vendor has a very helpful suggestion: slide to close it with a piece of wood. Conclusion, I love this lighter and will buy another one “Le Grand St-Dupont” that has a jet flame for cigar. The delivery is very fast, 2 days, after check out.I bought it from ElegantLighters.com seller and paid with my amazon account.
